Protect your hands with sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher, applying liberally 15-30 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every two hours, or more frequently after swimming or sweating.
- Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen, blocking both UVA and UVB rays. Consider sunscreens specifically formulated for sensitive skin if needed.
Wear protective clothing. Gloves are ideal, but long sleeves and hats also provide significant sun protection.
Opt for tightly woven fabrics that offer better UV protection. Darker colors generally offer better sun protection than lighter colors.
Limit sun exposure during peak hours (10 AM to 4 PM), when the sun’s rays are strongest. Seek shade whenever possible.
- Use an umbrella or seek shade under trees or buildings. Plan outdoor activities for early morning or late afternoon to minimize sun exposure.
If you experience a sunburn, apply cool compresses to soothe the skin and use aloe vera gel to promote healing. Severe sunburns warrant medical attention.
