How Sildenafil Citrate Works
Sildenafil Citrate enhances the effects of nitric oxide, a naturally occurring chemical in the body. Nitric oxide relaxes the muscles in the blood vessels of the penis, increasing blood flow and facilitating an erection when sexually stimulated. Importantly, Sildenafil Citrate doesn’t cause an erection on its own; sexual stimulation is necessary.
